El Tarter (Grandvalira-Andorra) has been one of the best freestyle snowparks in southern Europe for many years, bringing together a lot of international and local riders alike with international events like Grandvalira total Fight.
The event is not held anymore but the snowpark continues with the same mindset to offer the best freestyle experience to all kind of riders with a very powerful line of kickers and rails.
The whole line is very long this year, because it starts at the exit of the Tossa chairlift and continues down to the very bottom of the run.
The top part is full of rails and round bars with different shapes and lenghts, and can be a very good option just to warm up for the more difficult lines that are located at the middle and bottom of the park, with the central line full of a wide range of features and bigger kickers.
This winter the slushy season has started sooner and this gave an extra oportunity to enjoy spring sessions for the locals who have been pushing up the limits with some outstanding trickery.
The snowpark crew is headed by Enric Bonvehí and Miguel Moreno, who are always working on upgrades and improvements changing the set up of the park according to snow conditions.
April seven is the expected season’s closure date so if you still want to shred this winter El Tarter is the perfect choice to stomp those tricks you have in mind.
There’s more freestyle options in Andorra like the Arinsal snowpark which this year has had a lot of good sessions and next season will have an upgrade in terms of terrain and features.
El Tarter is currently sponsored by Oakley, and you can follow them on their Instagram account @snowpark_el_tarter with the latest info and updates on the setup.
